Day 1: Kigali: Arrival in Kigali – welcome by your tour guide – check-in at hotel – Kigali city tour

Day 2: Visit to Ntarama genocide memorial – transfer to Akagera National Park – boat ride on Lake Ihema – optional: Luxurious camping in the Park (or comfortable hotel)

Day 3: Akagera National Park: Game drives and community based experiences. Overnight: – Akagera

Day 4: Huye and Nyanza: Transfer to Huye – on your way visit the famous catholic Cathedral of Kabgayi and the Rwanda National museum – visit the ancient King’s palace at Nyanza, Rwanda art and the women drumming group at the university. Overnight: – recommended hotel in Huye (optional).

Day 5: Huye and Nyungwe National Park: Visit the university, market and enjoy the dancers at the museum then transfer to Nyungwe National Park – visit a tea plantation – afternoon primate viewing in Nyungwe National Park.Overnight: – Recommended hotel in Nyungwe.

Day 6: Nyungwe National Park: Trekking of Chimps in Nyungwe National Park Or (the beautiful Waterfall, source of the Nile, birding, nature walks). Overnight: – Nyungwe

Day 7: Karongi and Lake Kivu: Transfer to Kibuye and visit Bisesero on the way to Karongi church and Nyange genocide memorial – boat tour to Amahoro Island, the Island of Peace late afternoon. Overnight: – Karongi.

Day 8: Rubavu and Lake Kivu: Boat transfer to Gisenyi – visit the fishing village, hot springs, brewery and communities around. Overnight: – Recommended hotel in Gisenyi.

Day 9: Hot springs and Kinigi: Transfer to Kinigi – experience traditional dancers and learn about Rwandan drumming, singing and dancing – Extra:-learn about Rwandan cooking in a local family – optional overnight stay in a family home (or comfortable at five volcanoes hotel)

Day 10: Twin Lakes & Buhanga Forest: Transfer to a fishing village at Lake Ruhondo – learn about local fishing methods and visit Street Children Project in Ruhengeri; learn about sorghum or banana beer production by a women cooperative, visit a woman cooperative producing handicrafts made of banana leaves.
